SR 14×8 F5J Type 1A Folding Prop Blades

A pair of SR 14 x 8 Type 1A folding prop blades, suitable for HyperFlight’s and other makes of folding prop yokes and spinners. These quality blades are made from injection molded carbon fibre reinforced plastic to a very innovative design.

Aero design is by Julian Benz who specially optimised them for F5J 3m – 4m gliders. Their unusual shape enables them to fold flat against a glider fuselage, reducing glide drag. Despite not being hand made from epoxy resin and carbon cloth/rovings like most of the high quality props we sell these blades are light, highly efficient, and can cope with high power setups.

Note this product consists of two propeller blades only. The central spinner/yoke assembly is not included. Also it is common for prop blades to not fit all spinner/yokes perfectly as supplied. It is often necessary to reduce the width the blade root slightly to ensure free folding movement. Also the cut out in the spinner cone often needs to be increased to allow the blades to fully extend. The root of the blade should not touch the spinner cone when the prop is fully opened.
